May be backfiring

quote:

Theresa May could be on course to lose the General Election and the UK faces a hung parliament, according to a seat projection poll.

The constituency-by-constituency estimate for YouGov indicates the Conservative Party could lose 20 seats and see its majority wiped out, while Jeremy Corbyn's Labour may gain 28 seats.

The analysis is based on a complex model and suggests Mrs May's gamble of calling a snap election in the hope of a landslide win could backfire spectacularly.

What would a labour win mean for Brexit?

You could definitely go ahead and add the "stan" on to the end of Britain, that's for damn sure.

At least you finally admitted to being a liberal. So there's that.

I don't know what I am. I thought I was a conservative until I found out that conservatism wasn't actually about small government afterall. That was my bad.

You know that a new party is needed. We'll let you covert from liberal to the new party when you are ready.

I've predicted every major European election on this board correctly for the last six years (even Brexit, even though I was against it because I thought the people running the campaign were morons).

And this thread isn't a prediction.

And Trump is a liberal. Just admit it.

Well I'm ready for the libertarian party to become mainstream, but maybe I'm just not ready to go all in before that.

Conservatism is about limited government. We have very few conservatives nationwide in office right now

Man all of that looks eerily similar. I remember how that Brexit thing was supposed to fail miserably.

This "party" has been simmering on the back burner in the years between Presidential elections as long as I remember. People have said after almost every election that they wish the Libertarians would go mainstream and fill that "new" party slot that is screaming for an occupant in our political system.

The only ones who don't seem to have gotten that memo are the libertarians themselves, who are by the very nature of the "party" too disjointed and anti-establishmentarian to be cohesive and actually form a viable party that runs real, electable candidates in local, state, and national elections every election cycle. As a result, they have virtually no toehold on the ledge of governance in our American system of government, and don't seem to see the obvious reason why.

That poll has a wide error range, including a scenario where the Torries get more seats. It's hard to put too much stock in it.
