Nothing better for ratings than dead US troops. The media is licking their chops at the ability to turn the dead troop counter back on and let us know how many have died in Afghanistan. Even though Obama had a troop surge of his own and no one would have known about any dead soldiers.

A dead US troop counter is sick. Don't agree in sending additional troops but I hope the media doesn't do that crap

No doubt.
As awful as it is to say, I suspect they will be disappointed.

CNN and CBS did that while my brother was in Iraq. They were pushing the anti-war narrative hard especially after Bush won reelection.

My mother was already a wreck that year between that and Hurricane Katrina.

They did it everyday until obama was elected. Then it mysteriously stopped. I recall getting the body count every morning on my way to work on the radio.

In 2004 the anti-war narrative was right. Get the Hell out of there!

Almost forgotten is that Obama ordered the DOD in 2009 to draft a withdrawal plan from Afghanistan. They basically refused to do it.

He caved.

Doesn't justify having a troop death counter because the networks didn't like the current president.

I'm still surprised that AIDS and the homeless didn't instantly re-appear as national crises on Jan 21 this year.

Afghanistan was the right war at the right time. It took a while but we got Bin Laden which is the entire reason we went there.

Iraq was George Bush's folly. A lot of good men and women died there for no reason. It was indefensible then and remains indefensible.

If we are pouring more troops into Afghanistan it will hang around Trumps neck like an anchor. There is no reason to still be in that shite hole of a country.

None.

Wouldn't be as big of an issue if Trump hadn't shot his mouth off over and over about Afghanistan and Obama's handling of it.

He should be reminded constantly

The worst things Obama and the Dems did to the military were:

1. Reducing defense spending (less funding for training, less parts for aircraft, and proper equipment for troops)

2. Reducing manpower (forcing out good Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines leaving an experience gap which leads to less quality training, understaffed commands, etc.)

3. Turned the military into a social experiment.
