Seems the charities are the way to go to avoid election laws and all the "bought and sold" politicians have one.

Although not near as big as the bribe they gave Hillary the Saudis did give McCain $1 million.

Edited to explain more that I found

From none other than the Daily Kos in 2014

quote:

An August 2013 the Wall Street Journal reports that Saudi Arabia's Foreign Policy includes overthrowing Syrian government, which is Shiite, to put in place their own Sunni government so they, Saudis, can ultimately control Damascus.

The Saudi plan is to steadily strengthen carefully selected groups of rebel fighters not in the radical Islamist camp, with the goal of someday seeing them in control in Damascus.
That's a hefty goal the Saudis have -- control Damascus. And they want 'who' to fight for 'their' goal to control Damascus? You guessed it, none other than the U.S. Military.
The WSJ go on to write:

The Saudi Ambassador, Adel al-Jubeir, has long been courting members of Congress who could pressure the [Obama] Administration to get more involved in Syria. He found early support from Republican Sens. John McCain of Arizona and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina.
"found early support from Republican Sens. John McCain of Arizona and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina." Surprise, surprise.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan had been appointed by Saudi King Abdullah to lead Saudi Arabia's efforts to control Damascus by toppling Syrian President Bashar Assad.

Officials inside the Central Intelligence Agency [CIA] knew that Saudi Arabia was serious about toppling Syrian President Bashar al-Assad when the Saudi king named Prince Bandar bin Sultan al-Saud to lead the effort.

Saudi Prince Bandar was working hard to build support to topple Assad.
Prince Bandar has largely stayed out of Washington but held meetings with U.S. officials in the region. One was in September 2012. Sens. McCain and Graham, who were in Istanbul, met him in an opulent hotel suite on the banks of the Bosporus.
In January, 2014, Senator John McCain praised Prince Bandar on CNN

JOHN McCAIN: “Thank God for the Saudis and Prince Bandar,”
At the Munich Security Conference in February 2014 Senator John McCain praised Prince Bandar again,
JOHN McCAIN: “Thank God for the Saudis and Prince Bandar, and for our Qatari friends,”

So, Saudi Arabia's Prince Bandar enlisted Senator John McCain, Senator Lindsey Graham, and probably a host of other Senators, to goad America back into a middle east war so that Saudi Arabia can use the U.S. Military in securing Saudi Arabia's ultimate goal, control of Damascus, Syria.

No mention then of the $25 million they gave Hillary. I suspect once that happened the liberals there shut up.

No wonder he wants us to bomb Iran, depose Assad and start another cold war with Russia.

I updated the OP to reference an old Daily Kos piece.

It is really shocking.

It is unbelievable how much the Saudis have been trying to "hack our elections."

Maybe but right now we are not sending troops to die to help the Israelis install another government in another country like we are with the Saudis and their Sunni friends ISIS

About 4000 deaths in Iraq (so far) for Israel's sake not high enough?

That was for the Saudis too. Saddam was not attacking Israel--wasn't even talking about it.

Hey I don't disagree with you. I am just saying the Saudis, not the Russians, were the ones involved in this election we should be investigating.
