Florida GOP Sen. Marco Rubio and a bipartisan group of senators introduced legislation Wednesday that would force the Trump administration to confer with Congress before taking any steps to relieve Russian sanctions.

“The United States should not ease sanctions on Russia until (President Vladimir) Putin abandons his illegal annexation of Crimea, verifiably and permanently ends Russian aggression in Ukraine, and fully implements the Minsk accords,” Rubio said in a statement announcing the legislation.

Good. The President as it currently stands has too much power as echoed by Ron Paul. Congress should have the final authority of all such matters. Marco again is the most based Senator in Congress.

Good.. I hope congress challenges any oversteps by Trump, and ideally, dial down the power presidents do have.

ETA: But that is after term limits are enacted. Sheesh, they're needed so badly.

Because Congress is a subordinate branch of government as far as foreign policy goes and the only thing constitution gives them any sway over foreign policy is treaties?

Even members of congress are subject to the logan act under specific circumstances.

Call me when Congress can enforce foreign policy directives of their own.
