Solving the healthcare "problem" in this country is impossible.

The new bill in its current form will not satisfy the Republican conservative right, and the Left will never be happy with anything done to Obamacare.

It's a lose/lose for our POTUS.

I would have just let the current health care bill collapse on itself and let the Dems own it. Now any tinkering with the ACA or unfulfilled promises are the Republicans' problem-let's the Dems off of the hook.

Now if the current bill does not lower premiums/deductibles and/or if people lose their coverage he is fricked.

Should have worked on Tax reform first and got something that is solvable as his first big legislative item passed.

People are alot happier when they know they are going to be getting less $$$ taken from their check.

This is the most accurate thing that will be said on this board today.

The healthcare plan, as it stands now, is a misstep.

Healthcare is the hot topic. If Republicans don't do something about Obamacare soon, they will lose complete control in 2018.

Gotta try to prevent the October premium increases though. If those hit, and they are going to be YUGE, without at least a good attempt to stop it, people are gonna be pissed.

That wouldn't have flown. Voters are dumb and have short attention spans, they don't give a frick about reconciliation or parliamentary procedure, they'll want to know why the Republicans didn't do with the power what they promised to do with it for six years.

If you go back and listen to his pc gray he did some weeks ago (the one when he went off on the media for like an hour) he said that we wanted to do tax reform first but that some budget had to pass in march for healthcare so his hands were tied.
I'm not sure if that was his exact words but it was something along those lines.

Didn't Trump say over and over that he wanted to do tax reform first but couldn't bc of budgetary reasons?

Meaning what??

Just let the ACA collapse on itself- then when it does MAGA and the Repubs can pull the I told you this would happen. Then they could have really repealed the whole thing and passed legit healthcare legislation.

Taxes cut, both personal and corporate, stimulates the economy and would lead to more JOBS and put people in a better mood.

What leg does Trump have to stand on with tax reform while he still hides his tax return from the public?

He doesn't want to shift the focus to taxes, I can assure you that.

I keep hearing this and I admit I'm ignorant on it. How will the ACA collapse if nothing is done?

Because of tax structuring associated with obamacare, they had to do Healthcare first.

Republicans painted themselves into a corner on this one. It has been their biggest gripe and main sticking point for 6 years. All I'm learning was it was a bunch of talk because nothing was discussed in case they got the presidency in 2017. Extremely shortsighted.

Do you make your tax returns public knowledge? If so, post them here for all of us to see. IDGAF about ANYONE'S tax returns, including President Trump's tax returns. Disclosing ones tax returns is none of yours, mine, or anyone else's damn business whether you like it or not. You liberal turds are never happy unless your miserable. Frick all of you!

Even if everything in the ACA worked exactly as intended, and it doesn't, there aren't enough healthy people in the system. For something like the ACA to work the mandate has to be very punitive. But since our government is run by politicians and not economists it was wimpy and never really enforced and the first thing thrown overboard by Trump.

That is not what trump campaigned on or promised. He said he, and he alone, could fix it. He promised healthcare for everyone. Not only did Trump say these things but every trumpkin on this board defended his ability to fix it. Y'all now own it

MAGA doesn't and shouldn't do tax reform or healthcare reform. Let's leave that up to Congress.
