I don't think a heterosexual couple should do much PDA in a public place, so there is no way a homosexual couple should do it.
Maybe kissing is ok, but you should be respectful to others in the restaurant, PDAs can make people uneasy so I don't think it is wise for even heterosexual couples to do it.
another thing what would happen if this show did this with a heterosexual couple, sure different reactions but do you think people who say you should do that in public?
