I lean heavy libertarian and am all for personal freedom, and a persons right to choose how they live their life. The problem I have with it though, is if some dumbass makes bad decisions and loses everything they have or the ability to take care of theirselves, what then?

Does the government take care of them, or is it you frick up YOUR life, YOU take full responsibility for your choices and are on your on with no help from my tax dollars. If that is the case then I'm all for it.

What are the poli boards thoughts on this??

Charity should never come from government.

Not sure they are for government charity, but all I see is the personal freedom stuff, but nothing about you are responsible for your own actions

Having no government-sponsored (read legal stealing) safety net makes a polite society. Be an a-hole, and you better pray you don't end up in need or without.

Fear is the balancing human instinct. A government cannot control greed, laziness, gluttony, vanity, or any other potentially destructive human instinct, but it can remove fear with welfare programs of robbing others. Removing that fear allows greed, gluttony, vanity etc. to run wild. STOP REMOVING THE FEAR AND PLAYING HELICOPTER PARENT TO DUMBASS, IRRESPONSIBLE CITIZENS. They will eventually get their acts together.
