Correct. The Tea Party was based on grassroots. This mess is based on payouts and bussing.

This is what the left said about the tea party verbatim. They called the Tea Party astroturf remember?

ETA: The left became complacent during Obama's admin and the pendulum swung. I think this will continue to gain momentum but, like the Tea Party, will take time to structure.

I still remember the ORIGINAL Ron Paul tea party. Before it was co-opted by Fox News and their band of colonial garb wearing cocksuckers.

You're right, we're the majority. The Tea Party was the minority.

About? You sound like you're afraid to debate again. Go ahead, debate the OP in full.

They are trying to create the perception of a movement. Hence all the articles on CNN supporting it. They have the MSM trying to pump it up.

It will get old and die.

You're operating under the assumption that these protests are a political movement meant to sway public opinion.

Most are paid protesters meant to bring chaos and gradually burn the system down.

It's predictable how the "Tea Party" talking point has spread throughout the media.

Wishful thinking on your part. They just down vote and walk away.

Like you said, their response to seeing identity politics fail to get voters on their side is to double down on identity politics. We'll see how that works out for them.

I doubt this is the end of the dems, though I wish it was. These things always manage to tilt back and forth. Alot of leftists didn't vote in 2016 cuz they were so certain it was in the bag or because Hillary was just that awful.

For example, the Cassidy event yesterday, looked like about 30 or so dissidents inside and another 30-40 outside, but the media gives the impression that it was some huge movement, so, ~150 people or 0.02% of the Metro area.

You're not in power. That's how fricked up your party has become.

I saw a post yesterday where there are 23 GOP congressman in areas that HRC carried.

I think the democrats are trying to take back those 23 districts.

I also think they are looking long term. Not just for 2018, but for 2020. They know they can't win back the senate in 2018.

You are horribly misinformed on the origins of the Tea Party movement. It's no where close to the "grass roots movement" you've been led to believe.

Which election, the one where Trump got fewer votes than Clinton?

Or the one where Obama got more votes than Romney?

Maybe the one where Obama got more votes than McCain?

So in other words, it's no big deal that reliably blue states in the upper Midwest swing an unreal ten points?

I'd be freaking out if a state like Missouri was won by Hillary

Missouri's governor has pissed off many of his supporters my wife works with.

He has made cuts in higher education and other state programs. MSSU had shut down some of its degree programs.

Die hard GOP supporters are not happy with some of the cuts. This could hurt the GOP senate campaign in 2018 and governor in 2020, but the state will probably stay red for president.
