Will people finally get their fill of these idiots and lean right in 2020? These fools are in their full-tilt, technicolor splendor. Never thought I'd see things go this absurd.

Assuming Trump has been moderately successful, voters will have a long memory.

It will probably be either ignored and/or one forgotten by then.

2o20 is dependent on the economy, democratic candidate and how popular trump is.

These protests will be long forgotten

TRUMP can say he inherited it from Obama. Hell Barry is still blaming Bush.

2020 is an eternity in politics. Less than a month ago people were writing the GOP's obituary. The Democrat's fortunes could change just as dramatically.

I think it's fair to say we've already seen it. These rust belt states weren't delivered purely on Trump's panache.

The left's response to this is to hammer down on the idiocy that left them standing at the alter. Expect more defections.

I think without a doubt it helps the Republicans smoke them in the 2018 mid terms. Where the electorate will already favor them even more.

The future of the Democratic Party is in an interesting predicament. They desperately need to keep pushing identity politics, but they will continue to bleed support from the working class if they do so.

2018 and 2020 are going to be fascinating. Hell, American politics from now on probably will be.

Definitely. Liberals used to be perceived as having the moral high ground, but that's not the case anymore. They've been exposed as hypocrites. If they weren't hypocrites, Sanders would have been the nominee and the party wouldn't have actively worked against him.

Obviously this depends largely on how well Trump does as President. I'd say that everything between "worse than Carter" and "better than Political Talk's fantasy version of Ronald Reagan" is a realistic possibility.

obviously everyone's already forgotten how the Alt right/Reps have been melting for the last 8 years, so it's safe to say all will be forgotten.

that's a long way away. it's good for the GOP if Trump rides the wave. If he goes off the reservation, then it certainly won't matter. The momentum is strong though, with a near super-majority of GOP governorships, USSC picks, and both houses of Congress. It's the GOP's to f up.

If trump actually brings jobs back to the rust belt, gets an infrastructure bill passed that actually builds roads and bridges, and fixes the health care issue, it'll be a Reagan style landslide in 2020

Agree but if he does all this, his legacy will surpass Reagan's by miles.
