Talking to a Veteran who was in artillery, and he said the ordinance has a shelf life of 15 years before it becomes useless. He said we made 12 of them in 2003, which doesn't leave much time to make use of the other 11. A little food for thought.

Imagine the amount of fish you could catch if you dropped one in the Pacific?

I think I would put them all in North Korea and tell them they do not want #12

I actually just did a quick internet search which matched the claim of a 15 year shelf life, but indicated we made 20 in 2003 and have 19 left. So the board has more work to do.

Nah, that's me, and I admittedly am no expert on munitions/ordinance/things that go boom. I only treat those who formerly worked in those areas.

Were you able to confirm the "15 year shelf life" bit of info with your research, with regard to the MOAB?

I would think they could be renewed or extended.

I was thinking the other day about what size pond/lake you could get from one of those...you know it would hold water. My friend/boss had a pond dug on the property before he passed away, and will not hold water. Even had another dude try...nothing.

I'm no expert either but it seems likely they could just put new explosives into the bomb.

Not much from an internet search on shelf life from official news sources, but several other online forums are echoing the 15 years I was told. I'm just relaying info, use it as you will. If you know more, share if you are allowed.
