Washington Post says it's not true. Politico threw you some red meat and you pounced on it like a pack of snarling dogs.

I don't get this at all.

Wouldn't these people be on government-funded HMO plans that satisfy Obamacare, already?

Language was put in to PPACA that said Congressman and their Congressional Staff must enroll into the exchanges... However, Leadership and Committee staff were excluded due to the language.

As of right now no other federal employees have to give up their healthcare.

read the article...WashPo is lying....

quote:

Waxman (D-Calif.), interpret the language of the law such that there’s no problem at all. Others are worried it could be an issue, and are trying to prepare ways around it. The staffs I talked to stressed this worrying was preliminary, and felt the Politico article was jumping the gun.

so they are trying....

Are there no good plans in the exchange? Why not just join, for good publicity. I will never understand the clowns that are in charge.

There should be a petition that states that all federal employees, federally elected officials and those that they employee have to get their insurance from the exchanges in the state in which they reside.

Obamacare is a tax according to SCOTUS, right?

So why would congress get special tax privileges?

frick every piece of shite in Washington. These elected officials continually stab us in the back and the majority of us are too stupid to notice, or just don't give a shite.

I don't believe for a minute that these staffers are non-partisan.

In terms of staffers, you're talking about non-partisan professionals who work in Legislative Council who have spend their careers drafting bills, and know way the frick more than members. Committee staff who whose entire lives have been in these specific policy areas despite who's in charge. That's a significant loss to the institution and cannot be replaced. Hill staffers are much more than just campaign lackys in their 20s.

I'm sorry, but I have no sympathy for the motherfrickers who drafted this bill (most in their 20s without real job experience) and now they actually have to live in the real world, not the utopia bullchit world they fancy they are creating. These people who are drafting these bills, have no real world experience. They are young, think they know it all ideologues.

Fk them all.

There is concern in some quarters that the provision requiring lawmakers and staffers to join the exchanges, if it isn’t revised, could lead to a “brain drain” on Capitol Hill,

Didn't they just pass a new law wherein they are also exempted from insider trading?

Anybody surprised.
