A highly unusual and racially charged episode from the 2016 campaign suddenly resurfaced this week when a federal judge whom President Donald Trump repeatedly criticized last year was assigned to hear the case of a man who claims he was unfairly deported.

Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who was born in the US but is of Mexican heritage, was attacked by Trump last year over his handling of a lawsuit against Trump University. Trump claimed Curiel could not impartially hear the case because of his background and Trump's hardline immigration policies. The case was eventually settled.
The deportation case concerns Juan Manuel Montes Bojorquez, 23, whose lawyers allege he was deported from California to Mexico earlier this year despite having active protection under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, also known as DACA.

If this Judge had a brain in his head, he'd recuse himself.

So millions of people who's parents, grandparents and great grand parents have never stepped foot on the continent of Africa must be referred to as "African Americans" by polite society, but referring to an individual of Mexican heritage as "Mexican" is uncouth.

Got it.

So basically the majority of the threads on this board will be about bullshite like this?

Go hang out with those little pussies who get their feelings hurt when someone says a "bad" word.

What's interesting is this seems to be spun as some sort of "gotcha" for Trump, as the guy he called out as being Mexican will now rule against Trump, you know because of identity politics and all which was his point.

Apparently this guy wasn't deported. He left the country and wasn't let back in. The DHS has no records of deporting him and he's just trying to come back here again illegally.

quote:

The Department of Homeland Security disputes these claims and says the government has no record of detaining Montes on Feb. 17 and then deporting him hours later. It didn’t happen, they say. Officials have confirmed that Montes was sent back when he tried to reenter the country on or about Feb. 19, an occurrence that Montes’s lawyers and the government agree on.

quote:

While DHS initially said Tuesday that it had a record of Montes’s DACA expiring in 2015, it released new information Wednesday confirming that Montes was approved for DACA status lasting until 2018. But, DHS officials say, Montes lost that status by leaving the United States without permission “on an unknown date prior to his arrest by the U.S. Border Patrol on Feb. 19, 2017.”

Language is fluid - and it is all upstream for any conservative. DIM/LIBs use the malleable language as their number one weapon these days.

The thread title is a gross misrepresentation of what happened. As a Mexican...I find you far more bigoted and offensive than Trump. Calling a Mexican a Mexican isn't denigrating. You thinking it is, however....

Doesn't this judge have some La Raza connections, as well?

Hell - they don't even have to be American. I was watching a documentary a years or so ago and they were discussing the 'out of africa' migration. They said that approx 50,000 African Americans were the first to cross into the EuroAsia continent.

Trump didn't claim the judge couldn't be impartial because of his ethnicity. He claimed he wouldn't be impartial because of his funding of scholarships for illegal aliens and his longtime membership in the openly racist organization La Raza.
