re: Jindal cancels Medicaid contract

The lawmakers will mostly fall in line.

Not sure why you think otherwise. Jindal controls what local projects and NGOs get funded. He controls many contracts. He can direct economic development grants. He controls many unclassified positions that have ties to lawmakers. He can direct campaign funds to lawmakers for re-election bids. He has his thumb on the board of ethics, so they investigate political enemies and turn the other cheek for friends.

For better or worse, he's the most powerful governor since Long. Most people would fall in line.

LA Bid law says you have to go with the lowest responsible bidder.

Most of the time, but not always. There's a way that an agency can skirt around that requirement because we've done it to avoid the shitty contractors that pull that kind of crap. I'm not sure of the exact process but it's how we've been able to give work to crews that have proven to do quality jobs at reasonable prices instead of Toothless Joe low-balling the bid, getting it, doing a shite job and then jacking the price up.

Well that's nice and all until a DEB places a bid. You'd be racist to not accept any offer they put forward.

So did Jindal assign the federal grand jury investigation regarding Bruce?

If he is so powerful, why are the courts now ruling against him?

To even compare Jindal to long is crazy. Jindal is now getting what has been coming. I'm not making up the fact that his fellow republicans, that once supported him, are against him now. Look at the people who signed the letter regarding his proposals and tell me if those republicans were not on his side last session. He has now lost his touch. Check his approval ratings too

And like clockwork, Greenstein resigns..

Jindal will distance himself, even though he supported the actions in question.

re: Jindal cancels Medicaid contract
Hey guess what. With about a week to go before session, Jindal decides there needs to be an increase of 2.25 cents per dollar and not the 1.88 he originally touted.

It amazes me that Tuesday his administration talked about how great their sources are that helped come up with the plan. I guess that all changed in two days.

Jindal is using the tax push as a distraction from the irrational budget proposal and the DHH issue under federal investigation.
