NAPOLITANO TO RESIGN HOMELAND SECURITY, DURBIN RUMORED TO REPLACE
The LA Times is reporting that Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will announce her resignation to become president of the University of California system some time in September.
The former governor of Arizona is expected to get a huge raise. Her proposed salary has not been released. Her Cabinet salary is about $200,000, which is a third of the annual $591,000 that current UC president Mark G. Yudof makes.
Rumor is Obama may look at replacing Napolitano with U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin. Stay tuned.
