Islam and Asia
Posted by Forkbeard3777 on 5/9/17 at 11:51 pm35
Unless I am way off base here and completely incorrect, how has Islam and the Middle Eastern culture not had any influx into the Asian countries? These countries appear to be pure and free from Islamic culture and ideas.
What has Asia done to shield itself from the religion, refugees, immigrants, culture, and beliefs?

You're completely off base. Southeast is mostly Muslim.

What about Japan? China? Korea?

NE Asian cultures have avoided the scourge.
The Japanese are very racist and xenophobic. They don't mind visitors, but they don't abide many immigrants, and most of the ones they do are Korean. It'd be like Germany allowing a handful of Poles to immigrate there.
Japanese racism and xenophobia is of no consequence to Leftists, or globalists, because the Japanese aren't white, Western or traditionally Christian.
Ergo, Leftists don't carry a vitriolic hatred for the Japanese and subsequent desire to destroy Japan.

What about Japan? China? Korea?
Although Japan has actively suppressed Abraham religions in the past, including Christianity.

China is communist and doesn't really allow any religion openly.

Pretty sure indonesia is by far the largest muslim country, population wise. Something like 15% of all muslims live there.

They are not very far from Indonesia, which someone pointed out in this thread is the largest majority Muslim nation on the planet.

Japan was also pretty much closed off to the rest of the world until the mid 1800s so they don't have any sort of muslim tradition. Being an island nation helps them to. Korea has the advantage of China as a geographical buffer zone from the rest of the world.

Most Muslims don't have the courage to try to invade China. A few have tried and they've been dealt with by the government. You can find info online about China dealing with them.

It's mostly Japan. And that has to do with being an island.
Islamic influence in China dates from around 650, when the Rashidun Caliphate sent an envoy. The first mosque in China was built in 742, during the Tang Dynasty. The Hui Chinese Muslims number around 10 million or so, and are basically ethnic Chinese who converted at various points. The Uyghurs are a Turkic people who have caused problems for the Chinese, leading to a crackdown.
Southeast Asia has more Muslims than the ME. So it's not true to say that Asia has been impervious to Islam.

Can you tell me a little more about Indonesia and their Muslim influence? I see that around 90% are Islamic. Naturally, I assumed it would be a more Catholic, Buddhist, and Hindu based region.
Are they a more peaceful and tolerant (Sunni vs. Shia) version of Islam? I wonder how they became an Islamic haven? It's an island dominated area. Australia certainly isn't. The Philippines and Vietnam aren't Islamic dominants as well...

The biggest Muslim countries in the world are Asian.

I know they have a big Buddhist contingency. I was unaware of the Islamic numbers.

Indonesia?
I had no idea that they were at 90%.

India?
A Hindu-dominated country. I lived and traveled through there extensively. India..yes it is Asia. That said, I view India as it's own, unique phenomenon. I'm (somewhat) excluding them when I speak of Asia.
ETA: Can you answer my Indonesia question? Being surrounded by Papa New Guinea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Philipines, Australia...how did it explode into the Islamic haven?
