Whatever we are doing in the Middle East right now, I think it is working. The article linked below is from the New York Times:

quote:

More than a thousand Islamic State fighters passed through that room this past week after they fled their crumbling Iraqi stronghold of Hawija. Instead of the martyrdom they had boasted was their only acceptable fate, they had voluntarily ended up here in the interrogation center of the Kurdish authorities in northern Iraq.

For an extremist group that has made its reputation on its ferociousness, with fighters who would always choose suicide over surrender, the fall of Hawija has been a notable turning point. The group has suffered a string of humiliating defeats in Iraq and Syria, but the number of its shock troops who turned themselves in to Kurdish officials at the center in Dibis was unusually large, more than 1,000 since last Sunday.

The fight for Mosul, Iraq’s second-largest city, took nine months, and by comparison, relatively few Islamic State fighters surrendered. Tal Afar fell next, and more quickly, in only 11 days. Some 500 fighters surrendered there.

They should be dealt with humanely, fed, clothed and housed . Until which time they are summarily executed by a single gun blast to the back of the head .

Walk softly and shoot big guns, i.e., keep your trap shut about what you're going to do and just do it.

Haha. Well this has been happening for about 2 years now. Minus the humane treatment.

Lot of Iraqi soldiers getting theirs back after capturing ISIS fighters

I would bet those that died at Mosul were the true believers and those surrendering now could be more along the lines of conscripts.

I'm not usually one for vengeance, but a painless death is too good for these frickers. I'd be in favor of dropping them all into a pit of snakes medieval england style

ISIS has been walking dead for years. Towards the end of BHOs administration they've been getting crushed beyond all hope.

You bet. Nothing is going to stop those soldiers either. No point in even trying.

ISIS is probably running out of resources which just means the resources are going to some unknown middle east group that will pop up in their place.

YIPPEE!

That gives me supreme confidence that we should remain in the Middle East....for decades more maybe!
