In your opinion: how did the Billy Bush "pussy" tapes not sink Trump?

Let me preface this question by saying I did vote Trump & my mind didn't sway at all by these tapes because I know how guys talk and I've heard women say much worse. I'm a realist.
That being said, I feel like evidence this concrete would have sunk any other politician easily. I will admit that when it was released, causing a media firestorm, I was very nervous that it could spell doom for him. I could see how somebody would have their mind changed by those videos.
So tell me, how on Earth did those hot mic tapes not lead to his demise??

1. Trump was inoculated because he had been attacked so much by the press that anything short of him killing kittens in front of school children wouldn't have hurt him.
2. His supporters are anti-PC to an extreme degree and didn't care that he said it because that is how guys talk behind closed doors.

Trump just said that hey I am not perfect, but I do try to be good. That should be fine considering he didn't do anything, but talk a little locker room talk that everyone knows happens daily among all classes in this country.
Democrats get away with this shite all the time because they have no standards at all. Bill Clinton wasn't taken down for using abuse of power and taking advantage of young women at the White House.

Because he was real, it showed he hadn't lived his whole life trying to prep to get into a position like this, it gave validity to his message of it seems like we are in a bad spot as a country, and I want to help that out.
