I'm the go people come to when they need to get shite solved. Sometimes specialists don't spend the time needed to listen to the pt.
I read somewhere that the average doctor interrupts their patients after about 18 seconds or something weird like that
Perhaps if they'd listen they would get more information that would be useful to them
If humans don't know, a machine isn't going to do it though.
Watson has already proven that it can find pretty uncommon things based on patient history and symptoms that a mediocre doctor couldn't pick up on
You must have had some bad experiences with doctors, but that doesn't mean all of us are inept.
Personally I have had pretty good experience with doctors. I've been fortunate enough not to have any tough to diagnose problems however.
Maybe they could run her data through the Watson and use it as a TOOL to assist them.
Sure. But as more and more research data is compiled, the machine gets better and better at accessing information that is too overwhelming for even hundreds of humans to keep up with.
At some point it won't be just a tool, it will be the brains behind the entire operation. And doctors will be relegated to merely transmitting data to the machine.
