Most would consider it a lie he concocted to change the subject/deflect from his recent troubles (as he often does).....or maybe it's just his typical twitter trolling. Some would consider it an exaggeration... "there's no way it got that close..."
Would anyone (outside of the sycophants) really believe him? Seriously - think of moderate, centrist, independent types. There's no way. Why would anyone believe him?
This is the problem with having a president who lies constantly. It's very serious.
