I'm not a Dem. I'm a lifelong conservative Republican. I was Obamacare killed and buried. I want it repealed and replaced. I don't think that health insurance is a right, but it shouldn't cost middle class working people an arm and a leg either.

Trump promised he'd drain the swamp and get results. The swamp is getting refilled and I see no results. I've given him time, but if he punts on repealing and replacing Obamacare, that goes far beyond the cosmetics that I've criticized him over. That is just massive GOP failure and he's the head of the GOP.

Trump needs to produce results here. Failure is not an option. I can't believe you people are giving him a pass here.

sounds like reality is starting to set in now that the dopamine from the all that "winning" has worn off....

you are finally starting to see through all the bullshite you were fed during the campaign, what many of us have seen for a while now.... congratulations... you helped elect this atrocity.... hope you are happy, so quit fricking complaining.....

For months on the campaign trail Trump said he was gonna get Obamacare repealed and replaced. He also made promises about the replacement that are pure fantasy we see now but he kept telling us that HE would get it done. Now he's on the verge of failing and his supporters want to put 100% of the blame on the congress. That's weak. He didn't say if you elect me I'll sign whatever bill congress comes up with if they can agree. He said HE would get it done.

This is on him.

Nope

The dems fricked up the system.

The House leadership beat their meat instead of doing anything for 7 years. It's like they were shocked Trump won.

It'll take Trump a while to drag these assholes where we need to go.

"Mr. Trump appeared almost oblivious to the dire situation unfolding in the hours after he hosted a meeting with members of the House Freedom Caucus at the White House, where he made the case Mr. Winston pointed to — that not passing the health bill risks the rest of the Republican agenda.

In the midafternoon, a beaming Mr. Trump climbed into the rig of a black tractor-trailer, which had been driven to the White House for an event with trucking industry executives, honking the horn and posing for a series of tough-guy photos — one with his fists held aloft, another staring straight ahead, hands gripping the large wheel, his face compressed into an excited scream.

At a meeting inside shortly after, Mr. Trump announced that he was pressed for time and needed to go make calls for more votes.

A reporter informed him that the vote had already been called off."

It's on Paul Ryan. TRUMP can work a better deal now with Rand Paul.

You can't make insurance less expensive without bringing in younger healthier, people to balance out the risk pool. You can't do this without the mandate. Obamacare has this right. The Republicans are learning that there is no other way to make things cheaper. The GOP is fighting an unwinnable battle with itself. It's really pretty funny.

I must have missed that section of the Constitution that says the President can present bills.

Well to be fair, Bush II under Cheney wrote bills for Congress to rubber stamp.

But this one, like Obama, is being beat to the punch by Congress. And it is far from a bill the Senate could approve. This is happening because the right wing does not like it. for it to get out of the House, it won't pass the Senate moderate R's, Murkowski and Collins and Portman. Cant believe I am putting Portman in that group.

Do understand anything about how our government works. Congress makes law. If Congress doesn't make law, it is Congress that didn't make the law. It is not the president who didn't make the law.

The great presidents had visions and plans for the country and got it done. They didn't wait for congress to pass laws and just sign them. They lead from the front and pushed their agenda through.

Hell! Freaking W was able to convince the country to go to war with Iraq when they were just sitting over in the desert like "the frick we do to piss you off"

And Trump can't even Obamacare repealed and replaced after promising for months that he could.

I didn't vote for either one. No way I could vote for Hillary, ever. Stood in the voting booth for some time and could not vote for Trump either. So, I wrote in a conservative for president and voted Republican down ballot.

Yep. Either he needs to admit he had no idea how government worked or his supporters need to get off of the "separation of powers" bs and realize that he isn't draining any swamp.

I know that Congress writes legislation. I understand how our government works. I also understand that Trump ran on this and is the head of the GOP. And, he can't get it done. Or, he's saying he can't.

Obamacare is crap. The Ryan bill is crap. Thanks, Trump.

Yeah, I understand the separation of powers and the roles of each branch of government.

The idiocy on this board still surprises me.

After you people shilled for Trump and his false promises for 18 months you're now lecturing about Congress's role?

This is really funny. It is what capitulation looks like.

How? The bigger insurance companies are taking a billion dollar bath and are fleeing Obamacare.

Liberals are very, very angry that it's still "Obamacare" (for now).

No! If it fails it is because of Paul Ryan. He should have had a bill ready years ago. What has he been doing the last 7 years? You work on the bill and let it sit until you get your chance, then you pounce on it.

Trying to do a healthcare bill in a month won't work. All of the details should have been completed.
