And more funding for more tough immigration enforcement as well in exchange to keep DACA in place.

It's an issue that's just begging for compromise where everyone can get something for themselves and the political risk with their bases would be negated and cancel each other out.

Personally I want DACA gone but this compromise can be made because it's a good compromise but it can only be made in good faith.

I think the establishment will never in good faith work with Trump.

I want both but I'm not above making reasonable compromises if it can be done in good faith but my terms would have to come first in action as frick getting hoodwinked like Reagan did with Tip O'Neill on amnesty.

I've got an opposite perspective. Give the dreamers green cards and move on. I think the wall won't be worth the cost and probably your typical government boondoggle.

That being said, I'd be willing to make that deal. At this point, I'd rather the wall and build a little trust and cooperation. It's got to start somewhere, and this is a deal I think most could stomach.

There isnt going to be a wall and DACA wont be repealed, there is no need to negotiate either. Trump loss x 2

There's no chance Congress wants to give Trump a tremendous legislative win with a comprehensive immigration bill.

They'd rather complain and point fingers.

If Trump leaves it in place without a deal like this, conservative AG's from red states will sue to get rid of DACA and they will be successful and odds are in their favor given the SCOTUS makeup right now.

The biggest pressure to get rid of DACA is coming from them.

Bless your heart.

When you realize DACA is not legislation, come on back and we can talk.

Democrats and moderates are playing this "administration" perfectly, just sit back and let Trump destroy himself everyday, that also neutralizes republican advatanges in congress. Not many want to be on a sinking ship.

Let Trump go hard after DACA, repeal no repeal Trump loses.

Trump should sign an order to end DACA in a given time frame, say 3 months. At that same time, tell Congress to come up with immigration reform or they are all going home. Tell them he will sign any legislation on immigration they agree on. Basically make Congress quit being babies and do their job.

We may hate the legislation or we may love it, that is what we have elections for. Make them do their job though, we should not have EO governing us, we should have laws.

Agree, but really want DACA gone. If we have to keep it, it should be revised to let them stay only if they have no criminal records, are not drawing welfare, are enlisted or in school, or are gainfully employed, but with no path, ever, to citizenship, no path to bring relatives to the US, no right to vote, no "in state" tuition, etc. There should be detriments to being brought into the country illegally by parents, not rewards.

They've already lost the immigration debate.

They were loudly professing their love for open borders immigration and zero efforts to fight illegal immigration before Trump won the election

And now they're just reduced to calling out Trump for being mean to illegal immigrants while saying that we can't have unchecked illegal immigration.

Even a limp wristed moderate like Paul Ryan says we need tough borders and a wall.

True. So with your firsthand experience in the matter, can you share with us what it is that has made you not only want to stay on the sinking progressive democrat ship but actually tie yourself to the bow of said ship?
