I mean, I don't hate them. I feel the same way about them that I feel about Uruguay or Iceland.

I don't want to burn piles of American tax dollars to prop them up or arm them. They are more than capable of handling their own business.

THAT is the question.

Understand the difference between "Zionism" and "Judaism," and things start to make sense. There are easily more "christian" Zionists than Jewish ones.

Having spent a lot of time there I have a personal bias and support them. If I'd never been hard to say how I'd look at it

No. I stand with anyone of any race color, religion or creed who believes in property rights and individual sovereignty. I believe that people have the right to defend their property with lethal force if necessary. I do not support mass punishment or guilt by association. I do not condone any violence against innocent persons under any circumstances.

I do not believe that might makes right, or that states or any other concept describing collectives have "rights".

Therefore, I don't support Israel, Hamas, Al Qaeda, Egypt, Syria, Turkey, Iraq, the UN or for that matter the current incarnation of the USG. Each of these institutions shite on the crowning achievement of world history, which is development of a clear and consistent philosophy of property ownership and economic freedom.

Edit: The men who have most influenced my thoughts on this, and who are responsible for some of the biggest leaps in the philosophy of individual liberty, are Jews. Murray Rothbard and Ludwig Von Mises.

notable mention: Walter Block

Heard some Israeli high up say that "we have more of a right to stay in Israel than Europeans have to stay in North America". He's right; they were there a lot longer before we came here.

Jews have lived in the region since forever ago, and anyone who says that all the jews living there stole that land, or that they don't have a right to live on legitimately owned property without being attacked is a POS.

Not even the real jew haters like David Duke have ever argued that.

I'm confused. Why are you limiting it to that list? What about America? We took the land by force.

Tell me, what should Israel do? Leave the settlements? Then what do you suppose will happen?

ETA: Don't get me wrong. I support Israel in the sense that I support the right of the people of Israel to live peacefully in their country. However, it seems to me that the people around them don't want them to live there. I don't support Israel in the sense that we should give them 3.5 Billion annually. That's absurd

I said USG, which is the United States Government.

quote:

We took the land by force.

Any man having legitimate claim to his personal ownership of land taken from him by force should have his land returned to him, or if he chooses, should be compensated for the value of the land at the current market rate.

Claiming that one is 1/64th Cherokee is not a legitimate claim to land. There are virtually no native who can levy such a claim unfortunately. However, those had property stolen through Eminent Domain in contemporary times, most likely do have a legit claim and it should be recognized. This is also true for Palestinians, AND Jews, who had their property stolen from them.

There are a great many Israelis who agree with this sentiment, of all political backgrounds.

quote:

Tell me, what should Israel do? Leave the settlements? Then what do you suppose will happen?

They should cease settlements on lands that are clearly owned by persons. They should mercilessly kill anyone who launches rockets at innocent people or commits acts of violent terrorism. They should take steps to ensure that the state of Israel has a singular justice system for all who live under it, and eliminate the notion of a racist "jewish" state.

I support everyone's right to live peacefully on their own property and their right to defend that property.

I don't support any illegitimate Palestinian claims to land they cannot show clear title for.

I think I am beginning to see your stance. I'm not well informed on that area of the world, so I don't know who "owns" the land. How do you suppose this is settled for land that has no clear "owner"? Who makes these determinations?
