I am a smart guy... but I never come to the Poli-board because of how uneducated i am comparatively to the majority of this board and would make a fool of myself, right?... so here's my thing. i don't really apply myself to "all things politics" because it would be something i would become totally consumed with and be a VERY miserable person because of how little i myself could actually do to change things. i want to take advantage of the freedom that men and women have bled and died for me to experience and live in, and the best way for me is to relax and enjoy my life. which is great!
i work retail, and i naturally come across people so dumb that i wonder how in the hell they've learned to drive, kept alive so long, or even remembered to breathe... seriously, as dumb as a box of hair.
SO: Is it not -totally- fair to assume that allowing that type of person (or even my own willfully uneducated enough politically speaking self) should have NO pull in the direction of our country? Should voting not be "free to all who can pass certain knowledge based tests" sorta thing?
It just bothers me to know that our country's direction is in EVERYONE's hands. I AM for democracy, don't get me wrong. I just think a vote ought to be something we each individually earn, but have a right to earn that can't be denied. Instead of just a default vote no matter how dumb you are and how little you know.
Sorry if that was long winded. Just had to get that off my chest.
