inclined to follow Rands logic than a Graham bill.

but I've not read either proposal

I wouldn't describe Rand as negative force.

He's trying to appease McConnell, nothing more.

No it isn't. He is just playing politics and appeasing the whiners for now. Just follow Bannon when it comes to these primaries.

You would if your loyalties were with the establishment.

IMO it was a bargain between McConnell and Trump.

McConnell will bring Graham-Cassidy to the floor and "repeal and replace" Obamacare for Trump's support of McConnell's establishment baw Luther Strange.

I hope Alabama votes Moore.

How does it appease McConnell to endorse a loser?

To me it shows Trump is willing to demonstrate how little weight his endorsement carries.

Supporting a loser just so he can sign a losing bill brought forth by a loser. Truly 4D.

Doesn't really seem like a fair trade for McConnell though. Passing massive legislation vs. supporting a guy who is probably still going to lose?

Trump explained why in his tweet: he's loyal to those who are loyal to him. I don't know if he actually agrees with Strange more than Moore, but between the two, Trump is going to stick with the one who had his back and helped him out.

Strange was loyal to DJT on votes and He's returning loyalty. Trump knows Moore will win.

I don't know. I love me some Rand, too, but isn't it this all or nothing type attitude that has led to their impotence in the first place? They can't get anything of substance accomplished because they can't agree on anything.

Okay.

Anyhow, MM is more than likely going to get a Republican senator out of AL. I think we can all agree on that. So if we accept that as a truth, then what is MMs motivation for seeking Trump's endorsement of Strange, or Trump's agreement to give it. The wiser strategy by both would be to stay out of the primary so, in my mind, the endorsement isn't about ensuring a Strange win, but rather about something else.

Strange will support Trump when bills are brought to the floor by McConnell. Strange won't rock the boat.

Moore will pressure McConnell to bring bills (conservative bills) to the floor that he otherwise wouldn't. In other words, Moore is going to be a pain in McConnell's arse from the right. Kind of like Rand, Cruz and to a certain extent Lee.

In McConnell's view, Strange is a tamed dog. Moore is an untamed lion.

Anyway, that's the way I see it.

Why? There's strange, the establishment lap dog, junior senator from Alabama who will fall in line, and then there is Roy Moore, the controversial, wild card who marches to the beat of his own drum. If you are Trump, and senate numbers being what they are, do you want a reliable vote, or do you want a political circus act?
