I just realized I will be in San Francisco the day of Trump's inauguration

I need to find a Calexit rally to attend. I will be there to support the Calexit, but not for the same reason as them.

In Seattle I see dozens of flyers all the time advertising some rally or protest and then I'll walk by when the event happens and there will be like 12 people there

There won't be a Calexit rally that day but there will certainly be a protest march opposing Trump's presidency.
I strongly suggest that you get a hotel or motel room as far away from Market street and downtown especially lower Market street from the Embarcadero to Castro street and anywhere near City Hall.

Unless you are in Noe Valley, most of the city is dog and human shite-stained streets, squatters on most major streets like Market creating human obstacles and homeless pissing on your car tires in the back-alleys.

If you want to have the best day of your chest thumping life, grab a GoPro, mount that sucker on a MAGA cap, put on a Trump/Pence 2016 tee shirt and find the most butthurt group of whiny pathetic San Fransicko Prog/Libs (preferably Trump protestors). Now, just mingle and chat it up about how great democracy is...., err, the electoral college is and you'll have a viral video for the ages. Normally I would say you may need some backup but not in sissy land.
