"I felt relief that the killer was white" - Washington Post writer Zack Linly
piece of shite has no shame

Zack Linly is a poet, performer, freelance writer, community organizer and activist living in Atlanta.

On Monday morning, I woke up to the news that innocent people had been killed in another senseless mass shooting. At least 50 people had been killed after a gunman opened fire on thousands attending a country music festival in Las Vegas. And before I could feel fear, grief or despair, I felt relief that the killer was white.

If he had been Hispanic, it would be the reason “we can’t let these people in our country.” Whether he was actually an illegal immigrant would’ve been obfuscated into irrelevancy within the first day of reporting, as pundits bleated about massive deportation and building walls (logistics not included).

If the shooter was Middle Eastern or Muslim, the rhetoric would pretty much write itself at this point. President Trump could add half the Middle East to his travel ban list and justify it through 24-hour news coverage of fleeing survivors. It wouldn’t matter if the killer was a U.S. citizen, born and raised in Vegas or if there were no ties found to any known terrorist organization. I doubt he’d be granted a descriptor with a positive connotation like “lone wolf,” as if he were the protagonist in a classic Western; I doubt any editor would find that term appropriate.

I was devastated about Las Vegas — but quietly relieved that the shooter was white

Liberalism is a mental disorder. Every new thing they do or say just supports that fact.

Well as least he's honest about it then, because it's pretty obvious that this phenomenon is common, if not universal.

It may not be the same group, or even based on the same demographic, but people invariably don't rant the attacker to be a group that is associated with themsleves, and instead often want it to be in a group that fits some previously established belief.

And since I find myself anxious in anticipation of the information about groups associated with attackers, even if they are unrelated to the attack, I am guilty of it as well.

There are very obvious examples throughout various threads of posters who have been doing the same thing, and taking it a step further by drawing their own unsupported conclusions to put him in the group so they can criticize that entire group.

So I assume you have pretty much avoided reading this board over the last couple of days, because surely you would have been bothered by the same things that bothered you about this article.

Lucky for you, you don't have to go far to find it. SirWinston was kind enough to post so you can search his posts for the example of it that he has been spamming for days.

And what would that be? That generally you don’t have to worry about white guys?

What ever happened to the simple idea that you don't blurt out every stupid idea that pops into your head?

Apparently it was not that important of an idea since it didn't stop people from voting for Trump.

and it doesn't stop people from repeating how "stupid" voting for Trump was when Hillary repeatedly confirms her lack of qualifications for the job

No failed candidate has ever gone on to prove themselves so inadequate yet people still stupidly insist it was stupid to vote for Trump.

That may have proceeded past stupidity right into mental illness in many cases.

Yes. A take of two decisions where both are ultimately stupid.
