...and am pretty knowledgeable about American political history.

The scope and breadth of these attacks on Trump are unprecedented.

What's more, they are in every sense a "crossing of the Rubicon" in American politics. The poisonous climate is DC is metastasizing and the citizenry is going to suffer.

I lay this squarely at the feet of the Left and I pray that the GOP will find a backbone and that Trump will soldier on.

HEre's the problem. These attacks are now fair game for Rs. It's a never ending cycle of the escalation of tactics. The nuclear option was the most recent example. The Rs will use it now. The Ds will use it again. It's nuts. So much hate and vitriol.

I find myself saying frick 'em. Go nuclear. Frick 'em, attack them like they attacked my side.

I don't like that at all. It is what it is I suppose.

That's what the Obamabots were saying when Joe Wilson screamed "you lie!" at Obama during a speech to a joint session.

Regardless of whatever you think of Obamacare, Obama or Wilson - it was an unprecedented affront.

And isn't that your point? Unprecedented affronts to the President?

It's fun when it happens to the other guy, but you cry when it happens to yours.

Yes. One man (who was 100% correct) is the exact same as the wholesale attack by the opposition party, holdovers from the previous administration that are still employed (including in the IC) and the media.

Exact.

fricking.

Same.

Hypothetically speaking, lets say Trump really WAS either in cahoots with or being blackmailed by Russia. How would you feel about that?

How was it unprecedented?

"Affront" would indicate an in-bounds or slightly out-of-bounds injurious sentiment

What's being done is political sabotage

Another logical fallacy

Cahoots? Depends. If they were in cahoots to once and for all eradicate Islam from the face of the planet, and save Western Civilization? Bully!

Blackmailed? Not too thrilled about that.

The left is seriously becoming un American.

I was reading a DU thread of Canada's PM and Trump and they were pulling for the Canadian PM over Trump the way one college teams fans pull for their own against another.

"Oh I love how he swapped from English to French it caught Trump Off his game and now he is shaken"

I mean seriously un American. I despised Obama. But I never once "pulled" for a foreigner to make him look dumb.

This administration is made up entirely of incontinent buffoons and if you think it's going to get better you're dreaming

How yall imagined this would go vs. how pretty much everyone else knew it was going to go is quite frankly astounding

Unprecedented

Because we've never had such an Orange turd sitting in the Oval Office.

Get outta here with your "knowledge of politics"

It's bias hackery on your part.

Looks like someone has nothing of substance to say, just wild speculation.

Typical.

Yeah, this is really an unbiased view from someone who wants to talk about "bias hackery."

And it's "biased hackery," not "bias"

It seems to me the establishment on both sides are equally at fault. I don't really think there is a dime's worth of difference between establishment Rs and Ds...except meaningless rhetoric to pander to their bases....

No they're not. They've been going on with every administration since at least Reagan.
