How wealthy are the "elite" in North Korea?

Class system based. They are more well off than you'd think A lot have dual citizenships. Honestly, kinda hoping one of them would turn on KJU by now.

Well they have the entire countries wealth even for a poor country that's a lot for just a few.

And some would rather be really rich in a country of poor people in order to lord it over them than be just moderately wealth in a rich country where they don't stand out.


And that's just money. Power is also just as strong a motivator.

I saw where a guy there with a 20 year old Benz was considered part of the elite. I think the elites grocery store has some refrigeration as well

Nobody is allowed to move to and live in Pyongyang or even visit it without the government's approval.

You can't get any more totalitarian, oppressive, fascist and authoritarian than that.

They are absolutely wealthy by any standard. It's just a handful of families.

This is one of the dirty secrets of communism. They don't do away with class divisions. They cement them into place, and everyone is stuck in whatever situation into which they were born.

They, and government officials (many of whom are from their own families) are the new ruling class.
