I keep hearing that all these blacks are being oppressed in racist America but how does that compare to other nations?

Are they more oppressed than,

Political dissidents in China or North Korea?

White farmers in South Africa?

Jews and Christians in the Middle East?

Kurds?

Just trying to gain perspective on the level of oppression that American blacks are facing relative to what others around the world are facing.

Just look at the poor in Mexico and central and South America.

I understand that blacks in this country have legitimate grievances but today's African Americans really have no idea what true oppression is.

That's not a good comparison

The better one would be blacks/muslims in Europe versus in US

America will literally PAY YOU to have kids and give you food for nothing.... In other actually oppressive countries, you either starve or work/eat.

Minorities in Europe have it worse. That doesn't mean we are where we need to be.

Finland oppresses working class Finns by giving all their tax money to refugees so that they can live in nice houses that the Finns can't afford.

Cue the old clip from John Stossel, of that enormous woman complaining that public housing only had basic cable. Now THAT is oppression.

Are you suggesting the US hasn't done some shitty things to blacks?

Let's just start with inconsistent sentencing between blacks and whites for non or minor felony offenses.

To deny there is mass incarceration of young black males for non violent crime is to live in denial.

The only thing blacks suffer from in the US is low expectations.

They are protesting the anomaly that is white cop on black male violence. What percentage of black people have to deal with this?

Like 11 were killed by cops last year (no data on justification of the shooting) and so let’s assume that 10/11 were NOT justified and RACIST COPS.

that’s like .000000000000001% of the black population in the USA.

Instead, they should look at the staggering figures showing black on black violence and murder. Maybe even look at rape figures.

Where do we "need" to be and who gets to decide what this "need" is?

Stop committing crimes of any kind and this isn't an issue! See how that works?

And you can’t lump everyone into one basket, but I would assume there are racist cops out there that have heard rap songs that are celebrated in the black community and therefore they may stereotype everyone for that matter.

The problem is the image is CELEBRATED as culture when in reality it’s all about drugs, violence, rape, and greed.

So you are Ok with white kids in the suburbs getting a light tap on the wrist for the same thing thing that gets a black kid in the hood a jail sentence?

I never condoned criminal behavior, though I think a lot of minor drug offenses should be decriminalized.

But as long as those things are criminal, one race shouldn't be sentenced disproportionately to another.
