I'm not sure about the rest of the state, but here in BR I can't go for 30 minutes without hearing that "CassidyCare" radio ad.

I know she has to be worried, but damn. Even if I were a Dem I would probably vote against her just because of over-advertising, especially because it's being done through a bullshite PAC.

Recent polling:
RCP has Cassidy +2.2
SMOR has Cassidy by about 10
HuffPo (following 14 polls) has Cassidy by .4

With all the noise coming from Mary's camp, I can't remember hearing any Cassidy spots.

Good question.

I have heard third-party ads attacking Landrieu, but those were some months back.

OTOH, Landrieu's ads with her dad have been running non-stop whenever I have the TV on, which is enough to make me lose my lunch after a while.

As far as Mary's chances go, what I'd been hearing for a while now is that Landrieu's seat is dependent on a small group of big-money donors who would have to see the benefit of dropping a powerful senator in the majority for a guy with no seniority.

If it looks like the Republicans will flip the Senate regardless of Louisiana, those money men will either cut Mary off or outright support Cassidy.

Mary doesn't realize that the Democrat leadership doesn't need her anymore.

She has always been worried though. it will be tough for her to get reelected but its not like any of her campaigns have been easy though.

The closest thing she's had to an easy campaign was last time around when Kennedy was her opponent and Obama was on the ticket.

Both of her first two elections were nail-biters that went to a runoff while that one was over on election day. Having a better candidate than Kennedy, who switches the letter behind his name every other week, could have unseated her even in a down year because the Dems in Louisiana were so disorganized back then.

The fact that she's attacking HIM on Obamacare is absolutely hysterical beyond belief.

I guess she thinks we'll forget about the Louisiana Purchase and the Cornhusker Kickback which helped get the thing through the Senate.

Why should I be mad that Louisiana get extra couple of billions in medicaid funding?

You shouldn't be mad if you like taking money from people who do not have the ability to object and spending it for personal benefit. Where does the money come from? The money is being borrowed from future taxpayers to provide benefits for people today. Do you think the future taxpayers will think it was wise for the people of today to take money from them without their consent? We are taking away their freedom to decide how to use the fruits of their labors.

i have no idea..

look you can object on philosophical grounds all you want. fact of the matter is that the money will be spent no matter what. No matter if it was a republican or democrat spending it. Neither side has shown the desire or ability to curb spending it. At least this time it was helping my state.

say what you want but at least Mary brought the money to my state rather than it being used to build a couple of more jets or a bridge to nowhere or a trip to paris for the president.

Imagine for a moment that every other voter feels this same way.

Now you understand why we have this shite sandwich to eat.

my point is only that they will have to pay for it no matter what as will mine. This spending is going to occur no matter what until one of the parties ( or i guess a third) actually gets serious about the budget. until then, i hope all overspending is in my state.
I think budgetary issue is the biggest issue facing our country for sometime now, yet we have had presidents/congress do very little about it.

So you're saying your vote is for sale and Mary has met your price?

No i am saying that i will continue to vote third party until one of the parties actually gets serious about the pressing issues facing this country.
There is no candidate, D or R, worth supporting until then.

Cassidy is no different than any other politician here. at least Mary brings money, that I and the other taxpayers give, home through this and the oil and gas bill.
