Question for the liberals here...

How many of you would be roommates with Syrian refugees? Say you had an apartment, needed extra roommates and they apply

Wouldn't you have to ask your parents for permission to have them over?

People that say they would, are really underestimating different people's hygiene, grooming habits, language barrier, and just overall demeanor of strangers. It may sound insensitive(WGAF), but it rings true.

Yea, you have a better chance of being struck by lightning during a shark attack then receiving her as your roommate.

A well vetted one? Sure

Edited to add: could I? Yes. Would it be a good match socially? Likely not

As a freshman at LSU I was assigned a dorm roommate who make his first appearance on the third day of school at 3 a.m., drunk as a skunk and twice as smelly, covered in mud and howling. Any refugee would have been a better roommate.

There's some smoking hot Syrian chicks. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near a hardcore Muslim though.

I shared an office with Syrian refugee years ago. Smart, hard working guy and a positive addition to the USA. He's probably a better Christian than most of this board.

Your link is to sign up as a volunteer to work abroad. The question posed was if i had extra space in my home/apartment. To that, yes I would. I have a career, wife, and kids, so volunteering to go overseas isn't an option.

Actually one of my favorite middle eastern pop stars is Syrian, she's a sweetheart and has a really catchy song called "Yalla Yalla" (means "come on, come on" in Arabic)...

She used to do the formal Muslim wailing...she's a Syrian version of Amy Grant
