When did France receive the power to send the US to war?
Where did I say France could, gimp?
Why don't we go to war in Rwanda or Somalia?
Somalia, we did have some role, but not an effective one. We should have taken action in Rwanda.
War? That is a broad term, not sure I can say "war" was the best option.
Bill Clinton's biggest regret was not responding to the Rwanda genocide. LINK
Hate to break it to the gun toters on here, but there are options besides kill, arm, dethrone, or bomb. The INTERNATIONAL community can intervene without killing everyone.
Human rights violations are sick. The fact that many on this board take a "not my problem" approach is gross. Isolationism is not the solution. We are a global community, and that fact is becoming ever apparent with the internet and economy.
Does the US have to be world police? No. But it should be one of the chiefs of world police. As for now, chem weapons are off the table (rightfully so), maybe you can argue that the line is arbitrary (conventional vs chem), but that is the current line.
This should not be about regime change, it should be about warfare tactics. 500 years from now, it will be about warfare and collateral (innocent) slaughter unto itself.
