And you can see at the beginning of the clip that Jones had met him before. Did Jones just forget who he was?

Arrogance. The people in these videos are so smug and blatantly convinced of their moral superiority arising from an ends justify the means mentality. The media and the DNC has become such an echo chamber that they simply cannot fathom that an individual could have a conflicting view to theirs or want their crap talking points silenced.

When you're narcissistic, as many in the news are, you love to hear yourself talk.you love to hear how great your ideas are. They don't care who is listening, or what their motives are, as long as they nod their heads and act interested, the narcissist will continue talking.

Was O'Keefe actually the person talking to Van Jones in the video? If so then

The last video the undercover actor had it pretty easy.

Sees Van Jones on the street. Walks up to him and says, "Hey Van we met in Palm Springs." Shakes his hand and proceed to ask, "What do you think of this Russian thing? Where does it go next?" Van Jones, "Russia is a big nothing burger."

There was no fooling. Van was being totally transparent and open. So was the actor expect for the hidden camera part.

It's pure hubris.

They believe that they are morally and intellectually superior. How else do you explain these impossible to reconcile double standards? We are all just silly children to them.

o'keefe is playing the long game. he (or one of his minions) has made 'friends' with many people in the media over the years so he can gain their trust later on and get them to speak off the record.

if i'm a member of the media and someone i know either very well or casually or just someone i gave the time of day to comes up to me and cuts to the chase like that then i would immediately suspect he's wired for sound.

It's not James with the hidden camera. James goes to universities and conferences and recruits young adults to do what he can no longer do.

I know that

What I'm saying is if anyone came up to me and cut to the chase like that...I'd be very suspicious

Probably not, but then, O'Keefe's face is not plastered all over the landscape, so I wouldn't be surprised if people generally just don't recognize him. I don't think I would, even if he was sitting next to me at a football game.

Just a calming tactic, Jones probably never met him, but his hubris wasn't going to let him admit it. Good con tactic. Actually...worked. But, got to give Jones credit for telling the truth...He's not group think mentality here...
