Not real. God will stop it.

There's no way this can be true, unless Katrina does not count as a "flood".

It isn't climate change - it's the dumbass way they develop that's drowning the city.
Posted on 6/16/17 at 10:08 am to tarzana
Or maybe it's that they built too many new neighborhoods without thought to ancient drainage patterns they were disrupting.

The thing they fail to mention in the sensationalized articles is; this - if true - will be a very gradual process over decades. It's not like the people will one day wake up with their cat swimming around the kitchen.

The nation's 4th largest city is going under (literally)!

This used to be the currency of the neocon "right," whom many members of the left derided even if hypocritically while supporting droning. It's amusing as hell to see you drones adopt it wholeheartedly for political ends.

If they let trannies in the bathroom this won't happen.

RA'd for thread title change to

you understand cities are inanimate objects right?

But yet not one swinging dick will move because of this "guaranteed" science analysis. Kind of makes me think people that say this is real really don't feel this is real.

Houston is situated in a low-lying coastal area with poorly draining soils and is subject to heavy rainfall events and storm surge events, which makes it very prone to flooding.
So I guess none of this matters? You people are nuts.

Fear is a powerful, and often irrational thing. Mere fear of something is not self-validating.
Posted on 6/16/17 at 10:22 am to tarzana
probably has nothing to do with the endless strip malls being built over swamps
Posted on 6/16/17 at 10:25 am to tarzana
It truly is unbelievable to me that all of these cities (large and small) continue to build new areas and neighborhoods as fast as possible on top of terrible drainage infrastructure. Then, as soon as they begin to flood they continue to blame "climate change" rather than their own idiocy.
