I'm a Southern Democrat, who is more or less a classical liberal, some views left of center, but more in line with centrism. Pro-life (abortion is murder), pro-gun (2nd Amendment), state rights (10th Amendment). Can't say what the end game of the Democratic Party is anymore. The party that most of my family has been a member of for more than a 150 years has gone apeshite crazy.

I agree, these are the entrenched Recucklicans, truly swamp dwellers. Any true conservative/patriot/libertarian wants the federal government slashed by a minimum of 50-60% over a period of time with power going back to the state level where the citizens have more control.

So am I, hell I'm pro labor too! But we aint Democrats no more! The Democrat party left me just like they left Zell Miller, Joe Lieberman, etc.
The Democrat party has morphed into a movement towards socialism. They won't admit it because there are too many of us folks over 50 that will still fight them tooth and nail to prevent them from destroying the country.
I'm not going to an enabler of their destructive ideology, too many people have bled, cried and died for this miracle of mankind we proudly refer to as America!

The progressives have never controlled the house. At peak pelosi/obama, the progressive caucus was 60 people. The progressives have never had more than 20 senators ever. Entire premise of thread is nonsense.
