Bill Clinton dealt with this and will be remembered as one of the greatest presidents of all time. Ronald Reagan the same.

Obama started by his E.O. on intel leaking from 16 agencies. Then they set up Flynn. (If anyone recorded every breath someone made. They could accuse them of anything) the goal was to keep Trump on defense and stop him. Only thing is: they got the media helping but no one believes the MSM anymore.
Trump isn't allowed any learning curve but he will learn to tune them out.

If this investigation brings nothing that ties to Trump nor even threatens his hold on the Presidency, the GOP will beat the frick out of the DNC with this "waste of time" and "witch hunt over losing" for years.
Strangely enough though the bigger problem lies with the Democratic party if there is something only circumstantial and they latch onto it like rabid dogs. I say this because as the leadership of the Democratic party grows farther and farther Left, they leave more and more of their supporters behind. Using recent history (the 2006 mid-terms and 2008 Presidential election) as a litmus test, such a win would greatly embolden the Far Left, thus pushing more of the less liberal members out.
Currently the GOP controls the House, Senate, Presidency, the vast majority of Governorships and state legislatures. This has happened as the Far Left has taken more control of the Democratic party and moved it farther Left. I believe this is causality, not coincidence.
The only saving grace for the Democratic party at this point is for a smoking gun to be found tying Trump's campaign to the Russian government but then moving back toward the center afterwards. Nothing I've seen thus far leads me to believe either will happen.

We aren't afraid of any investigation.
It's not too much to ask though to give the man an actual opportunity to accomplish something before he's labeled a failure and all the other things they've tried to pin on him. They started this impeachment bullshite before the screens on the voting machines were even cold. It's insane and pathetic that more Democrats don't call out the idiocy of their party.
Clinton and Reagan were able to get things accomplished because Congress actually have a shite about what they were doing. You can't deny the Dems only want to see Trump fail to open the door for their candidate in 2020 regardless of any damage it may do to our country.

Trump isn't giving himself a chance. He's made some pretty bone headed, selfish decisions.
Appointing Flynn was a terrible decision.
The timing of Comey's firing was almost as bad.
Neither of those things have anything to do with anyone other than Donald Trump. He knew Democrats weren't going to give him a chance... That means he needs to be doing things to help himself - and it's almost like he doesn't want to. He's not comfortable unless he's getting negative attention. That's what it seems like.

And I absolutely agree with you that this is a major issue. Party first politicians have been the biggest problem Americans have faced over the last decade.

The goal is to smear Trump to the point where the GOP congress won't want to work with him and will stall out, leading to none of Trump's initiatives being implemented and the Democrats back in the race in 2018 and 2020.

This is exactly the kind of bs the dems have been losing seats over. Hypocrisy at its best. This is a waste of our money and time. When the smoke clears and they find nothing on Trump, it will be the nail in the coffin for the dems and the media. Hopefully the real scandals will emerge to include Hillary-uranium, all of Comeys memos forever (if they even exist, it may bite them on the arse. We can only hope. Then there is poor Seth who became another Clinton body bag. It will be interesting to say the least

If Trump is cleared, he's going to gloat and give the MSM and DNC the middle finger. He won't be governing in fear.
