Seeing lots of people talking about renewals for insurance through work, or individual policies.

So, indicate whether your premium for the upcoming policy period is going up (with an upvote) or going down (with a downvote).

Thanks

ETA - feel free to post your increase (or decrease) if you wish. Just trying to keep the voting in one place.

This will be bumped on occasion as upvote/downvote does not push the thread back up.

Current policy went up 3K. Don't know what percentage that is. Next policy premium doesn't come up till December.

Well, my insurance rates increase in July 2015.

I have insurance through my employer for myself and my son. I used to pay $50.00 per month for my son to be on the plan with a $500.00 deductible. Employer covered my portion. Starting in July 2015 it will cost me $383.00 per month for us two plus my deductible is 1K.

Mine is going up solely based on my age increase. I have a family of four.

Me, 46
My wife, 29
daughter, 19
and step-son 10

It's now $630/month and I have individual health insurance at least one more year through Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield. In Arkansas, someone in power is letting me and others keep their plan for one more year. It's quite good really. $500 deductible, $20 doctor visits and prescriptions are almost always below $10.

As of now my employer pays my premium even though it's a family plan. We only have 10 employees.

I am fearful I will have to use the Obamacare website to get health insurance next year because when I checked out a plan last on the website the most similar plan was $900+/month or I could get a shitty one for what I currently pay.

I really hate being forced to buy something from a for-profit company or pay a fine to the government. The ACA is/was a very shitty bill. It hurts the middle class ($50,000 to $100,000) the most.

You must be one of those under 28. Pretty amazing that you can go from being considered a child to running for President in a 7 year span

Presently 22 people have had their premiums for the upcoming policy period increase, while 2 have had their decrease.

This does not seem to jibe with the representations made during the discussion and debate over the ACA.

Maybe it's just skewed right now and needs a larger sample. Consider this a bump for additional votes...

If we stay with the same provider, and keep the same level of coverage, our insurance is going up 42.9% come December renewal.

Nope, 40 and married with kids. My employer pays 100% of my coverage. Wife's employer pays 100% of a family plan, so I'm actually double covered. I guess the premium might have gone up, but I haven't been told so if it did.

I don't trust this poll. Everyone of you saved at least $2500 and your employer's rate of expenditure decreased by 3000%.

Time to ask for a raise.
