Do you count the Ruby Ridge incident?

Sir, respectfully, the government attacked them.

I didn't like the dude, but that is a poor, poor example.

They attacked someone outside their compound? Really?

Ruby Ridge was murders committed by Federal agents and sanctioned by the U.S. government. Not the other way around.

Please contemplate what it means for a group of citizens to refuse to obey the duly enacted laws of their country, and refuse to be taken into custody to be penalized for breaking those laws, with the use of firearms as defense against law enforcement efforts to enforce the law.

I'm not condoning the specific acts of the law enforcment agenices that acted at Ruby Ridge or at Waco, but it was the lawlessness and threats of violence on the parts of those conservative small-government groups which directly resulted in the fruition of the forseeable consequences of their own actions.

That is exactly how you would expect militant non-conforming anti-government types to act. For the record, I can envision scenarios under tyrranical government control, in extreme circumstances, when I would also be considered an armed, militant, non-conforming anti-government type.

The point is that violence has occurred as a direct result of the hardened opinions and actions of "limited government conservative types".

What laws were the Dravidians breaking? What were they charged with?

What law was Randy Weaver breaking? What was he charged with?

Your post is solid, but we cannot forget that in both instances the evidence against them was flimsy at best.

An overstepping by FLEO.

There were legal warrants issued in both cases. The way to defend yourself in a civil society against improper government actions is the court of law, not barricading yourself and arming to the teeth.

In neither instance were they barricaded prior to the arrival of FLEO. They were peacefully living on their own property and had not threatened anyone.
