well to be fair, he's been "up the ranks" a few times in his career only to crash and burn

the guy's been in national political media for 20 years. he knows the ropes and is a great example of the ups and downs of a career in media

He's not the host Fox News deserves right now, but he's the host they need.

He absolutely needs a daily segment on the show called "Can't Cuck the Tuck."

Ratings Bonanza.

I didn't want an OP that was an essay but yeah the story is more interesting knowing about his career before

they envisioned him taking over for larry king and fired him. he went to msnbc...granted msnbc at the time was one of the lowest rated networks on cable...and he didn't do well and he couldn't get on network tv. no crossover gigs. in fact, the only time he's been on network tv was dancing with the stars on abc.

then he is off air for 3 years...which in television there's no coming back from...and then spends 6 years as a dime a dozen on air contributor.

he crashed and burned and his ascendency now has a lot to do with circumstances, but he does seemed to have learned something because his show is a success thus far...he's been on tv for almost 20 years and yet every break he's had has come in 4 months

yeah that makes this even more peculiar. he went through all his career milestones in less than a half year.

right place. right time.

at a certain point there will be a saturation of the "Trump era" and his show won't have the same novelty or shine

i'm not criticizing him, but his show got really repetitive really quickly and is mostly being fueled by the irrationality of the liberals and progs, post-election. at some point the pendulum will swing back the other way

Has anyone in broadcasting moved up the ranks as quickly as Tucker Carlson
What goes up . . .

Tucker's ratings will sag in the new line up, not necessarily due to any fault of his.
But if last night is a glimpse, Tucker's willingness to shed honesty for a story may prove his undoing. If your mo is to personally "win" every debate, there are obvious limitations to that format

not even doubting that at all, but he's not doing the same song and dance and now all of a sudden it's working for him.

Tuck did a pretty good interview with Gavin McInnes a while back. was pretty funny and they discussed the bow tie

George Stephanopoulas wins this award. His first job was at the top of the broadcasting food chain.

I would also say Megyn Kelly's rise and level was on a par with Tucker's.

Howard Cosell said there were only two businesses where one could start at the top: broadcasting and prostitution.
