Hi, I'm Anderson Cooper

The "bio of me says I worked for the C.I.A. while in college at Yale.

That is surprising since I am 47 years old, and the C.I.A. "Operation Mockingbird" referred to in the "bio" occurred in the 50's and 60's (a least 45 years ago).

Either that, or the person who posted this "bio" of me is full of sh!t.

It would be interesting to see the poll broken down by individual news source. Congress has insanely low approval numbers but individual congressmen have over a 90% reelection rate. Voters hate everyone but their guy. I suspect it's the same with media.

Very little doubt of this. You nailed it!

Not disputing the article. Just curious where the concept of mainstream stops.

Legitimate question. I think of mainstream as:

ABC
CBS
NBC
USA Today (Though not as much anymore interestingly enough)
PBS
CNN (I edited because I originally forgot them)
And that is about it. Local affiliates of those.
I have often wondered what others considered MSM to mean.

Fox News absolutely qualifies as MSM now. Probably MSNBC as well.

-MSNBC
-FOX
-NPR
-PBS
-WSJ
-the major city papers (NYT, Chicago Tribune, LA Times, etc.)
-Reuters
-AP
-CSPAN

I'm not sure about this one. I mean, it's a camera sitting on the senate and house floors. I cannot imagine there's a lot of partisanship there. Of course, I don't know if they have programming OTHER than that, honestly. Every time I ever tuned in, it was that.
