I shite you not...they are truly amazed that they're not being welcomed with open arms after publically shitting all over Trump in the primaries and the general.

quote:

They are some of the biggest names in the Republican national security firmament, veterans of past GOP administrations who say, if called upon by President-elect Donald Trump, they stand ready to serve their country again.

But their phones aren’t ringing. Their entreaties to Trump Tower in New York have mostly gone unanswered. In Trump world, these establishment all-stars say they are “PNG” — personae non gratae.

Their transgression was signing one or both of two public “Never Trump” letters during the campaign, declaring they would not vote for Trump and calling his candidacy a danger to the nation.

One letter, with 122 names, was published by War on the Rocks, a website devoted to national security commentary, during the primary season in March. The other, with 50 names, including some repeat signatories, was published by the New York Times during the general-election campaign in August.

Now, just days before Trump is sworn in as the nation’s 45th president, the letter signers fear they have been added to another document, this one private — a purported blacklist compiled by Trump’s political advisers.

There's even more hilarity in the remainder of the article

They can go stand in line at the parade if they're serious about attending. If they want a personalized invitation - piss on 'em.

When I read this earlier today I had to check the calendar to make sure that it was not April 1.

They obviously struggle with the definition of the word never.

Apparently they thought never meant unless Trump wins.

So they tried to blacklist him from washington very publicly. Found out they have no power to sway the people, and are now upset that maybe Trump finds them irrelevant and doesnt need them.

A signature on that Letter is a definitive mark re one's personal vision and character; especially under fire when the (political) bullets start flying. Don't need them anyway. And it is far better to set an example that if you harm the team...you're off the team.

The National Review crew just figured out that 30+ "Never Trump" article issue was their own death warrant, huh?

I almost started this same thread with the title:

Washington Post Breathlessly Reports that Trump Refuses to Consider Taking Advice from Those Disloyal to Him.

The entire article is written like this is some type of massive mistake.

It was nice of them to sign their names to a list like that. Makes the purging that much easier.

As well they should be, and should expect to be.

Their initial positions were sophomoric at best, and as grown arse men, they should be aware that words/actions have consequences.

We were calling this on the board a very long time ago.

Read that same article in shock. They are dumbstruck that signing a letter attesting their opinion a candidate is a direct harm and threat won't later have future ramifications upon their career.

Besides, are they so weak they can't stand by their opinion?

It's been said before here and is worth repeating. The ox is being gored as we speak. There are thousands of people who are about to be taken, screaming and crying, off the federal tit.

The only sorry thing is that they'd proffer their services in the first place. I can see serving if called upon, but to reach out feelers is pretty pathetic as is sitting around sulking.

Romney made an arse of himself going to that dinner. A little time in the wilderness never hurt anyone.
