Essential? Cars? We got by for millenia without them. They are not essential at all. We got by without them for thousands of years.
Hell, rational speed limit should be 30. Anything above that Is a death wish.

Good points. Suicides account for over 60% of gun deaths in the us and 80% of the remainder is tied to gang violence. A huge swath of these gang related gun crimes are happening in cities where gun control is most strict.

I agree with that. I am not suggesting anyone get their guns taken away. My point was to raise the question why we find acceptable to have people dying at many times our peers.

I said this on the last page. There isn't a country on this planet you can compare to the US. Not a single one. We're an entirely different animal. You'd have to lump all of Europe together to get a somewhat level comparison.

So what? You are essentially admitting that gun control would disproportionately affect legal gun owners. And what about cases like Sandy hook where legally purchased firearms were stolen?
