quote:

I don’t think about some platform that I have. I’m an individual. I live in this country. I have the right to say and think what I want. It’s got nothing to do with my position. If it helps someone think one way or another about something, great. But the discussion has to take place.

Obviously, race is the elephant in the room and we all understand that. Unless it is talked about constantly, it’s not going to get better. ‘Oh, they’re talking about that again. They pulled the race card again. Why do we have to talk about that?’ Well, because it’s uncomfortable. There has to be an uncomfortable element in the discourse for anything to change, whether it’s the LGBT movement, or women’s suffrage, race, it doesn’t matter. People have to be made to feel uncomfortable, and especially white people, because we’re comfortable. We still have no clue what being born white means. And if you read some of the recent literature, you realize there really is no such thing as whiteness. We kind of made it up. That’s not my original thought, but it’s true.

It’s hard to sit down and decide that, yes, it’s like you’re at the 50-meter mark in a 100-meter dash. You’ve got that kind of a lead, yes, because you were born white. You have advantage that are systemically, culturally, psychologically rare. And they’ve been built up and cemented for hundreds of years. But many people can’t look at it that way, because it’s too difficult. It can’t be something that’s on their plate on a daily basis. People want to hold their position, people want their status quo, people don’t want to give that up. Until its given up, it’s not going to be fixed.

This right here is some bold honesty that a lot of people don't want to hear, but you can't deny the truth behind it. This isn't going to magically go away. The conversation will continue to drive forward. Instead of complaining about it, join in the discussion.

This is like Bernie saying white people don't know what it means to be poor.

Oh what's that? The poorest counties in the nation are almost 100% white?

Sure I can. Please, present some statistical evidence of white privilege or black oppression in 2017 America.

I'll wait here.

You know, every time a rich white guy looks down on me and tells me I don't understand how good I have it being born white, it really makes me stop and think.

Easy to say when you're worth in excess of $30,000,000 at least.

Go coach a meaningless game.

Again you people put to much credence and importance into these people.

Who would have guessed that a child - born in early 1970s small-town Alabama to a father who was a welder and a mother who worked in a locally-owned grocery store - would have so many built-in advantages in life.

All things merit being equal (intelligence, talent, work ethic, etc.) minorities have a HUGE ADVANTAGE over whites in today's society.

Advantages in education, hiring, promotion, visibility, etc.

How do white people have an advantage when it is harder for them to get into certain schools because they are white?

Tucker Carlson was having this discussion last night and when it got "uncomfortable" the leftist ended by suggesting the conversation was pointless because Tucker was white and therefore "just couldn't understand."

So once again, the left is completely hypocritical when they say "we" have to have an uncomfortable conversation, though I'm all for it and always have been.

You and Pop go give 50% of what you currently have to a black person, and then get back to us.

Wonder why Pop waited till he was old and accomplished to go on this crusade against white privilege?

Pop if you really feel this way, and are a man of principle, donate your fortune to poor black communities. Stillman College in Tuscaloosa is a HBU that could use millions in donations to stay afloat. Could build some nice inner city schools and improve a lot of neighborhoods with his amassed fortune. He should start with making himself feel a little uncomfortable

Tickets for future Steeler games should be flooding Stubhub at face value or less, should it not?
