It won't.

After the implementation of the ACA, no legislation will improve the mess.

Not force you to pay...

So no mandate, and you can tailor your plan to your needs.

So for us in LA it will probably look very similar. We are a Medicaid expansion state with a Democratic governor. Since this bill would kick a lot down to the states, not much will change.

Given that it essentially decentralizes power, it will be very hard to estimate the effect on insurance costs and I would be skeptical of any analysis (looking at you CBO) that tried to produce a firm number.

Of course your standard is very high. Very few bills will reduced premiums (though Paul Ryan's bill did). Premiums will continue to go up. They did before ACA and they will do so after ACA. They question is how much.

What should be very clear is that this bill will save money over the long haul as caps to medicaid kick in. That's a big issue that should not be underestimated.

It repeals the Obamacare individual and employer mandates then leaves everything else up to the states.

I live in Georgia. We have a Repub Governor and a Repub controlled State Legis. I have no doubt they can deal with these "individual health insurance market" issues and other health insurance issues better then the federal govt. Graham/Cassidy will end Obamacare in my state except for the taxes.

Your premiums can be raised if you get sick.

So you'll pay whatever your premium is, get sick, then get priced out of the market.

Easy payday for insurance companies.

Wow, disingenuous much?

It removes Federal prohibitions. The whole point is that this will be handled by the states.

priced out of the market

easy payday

It seems that there is no "payday" if one is priced out of the market and stops paying premiums.

And that's after the insurer has already paid out 140% of the previous years premiums due to the "new" illness.

Obamacare is the easiest "payday" for insurance companies by far. This why most insurance companies want to keep it. Obamacare mandates like "essential health benefits" require every policy to cover pregnancy, birth control, mental health, drug abuse, ambulance service, etc, etc. Stuff many/most will never use. This adds $$$ to premium costs. It adds huge $$$ to insurance profits.

Another point, I would rather have my premiums raised if I get sick then PAY FOR SOMEBODY ELSE'S PREMIUMS IN OBAMACARE with a 400% increase if given a choice.

Except that they don't unless they can charge enough money to at least break even which hasn't happened quite yet.

My parent company took a huge loss on Obamacare. Many carriers did. Many bailed out altogether.

I thought most insurers were pulling out of Obamacare?
