Small government republicans strike again. Voting against employees and siding with their corporate over lords. Hypocrites

Interesting. How long can you be sent to prison for committing that crime?

From Pine Bluff, these test results would scare you.

The funny thing is that such mandatory and invasive methods would become more necessary the more collectivized healthcare becomes. If everyone pays for everyone, costs must be controlled.

Genetic discrimination incoming. This is actually pretty scary.

Not really. He'll likely be happy as a hog wallowing in its own vomit that the DNA strand will be so short that even a 1st grader could read it.

It is scary, and the fact that the political party in power is pushing to pass a bill to make it where people can be fired for not submitting to them is even scarier

PBhog, so it is your contention that companies should be barred from seeking genetic info from employees?

Is it your contention that employees should be forced to submit to a genetic test?... I don't care if they offer it, a employee should be able to not submit to it. Republicans are chipping away at our personal privacy by forcing people to submit it then

I'm conservative, support Trump, but this is not okay. It will make it hard for the ppl who actually need health coverage from obtaining it. Why? So the company doesn't lose out on its bottom line a little more? Who is it meant to protect?

I believe that if an employer wants to require it, then he should be able to. If an employee does not like it, he can find another employer. There is nothing invasive about that because nothing is forced on anyone. Someone's company is someone's company.

If you have good genetics you have nothing to worry about

Who said anything about healthcare? This is a separate bill.

I think you seem to think that this is part of the AHCA and it gives health insurance companies the right to do this for customers. That is false

But the House legislation would allow employers to impose penalties of up to 30 percent of the total cost of the employee's health insurance on those who choose to keep such information private.

Mandatory genetic testing will NOT survive challenges in court.

Btw, since Obamacare turned my great employer-provided health insurance into a catastrophic plan (deductible went from 1K to 5K with awful coverage) don't talk about small government and choices.

But this is about fining employees if they refuses to submit to genetic testing.

So you are siding with corporations and against personal privacy. Got that down for later debates. Bet you supported the patriot act as well.

Unfortunately, those dug into a corner will simply disregard this, as we see too often. This is Sci-fi scary stuff. Do some research as to how this information will/can be used. Terrifying.

This is not like employee drug testing. This is looking at your genetics and discriminating solely on the hand you were dealt when you were born. Let's say you walk into the office a day after this legislation is passed. You've been with the company 20 years, have worked your way up and are finally living the kind of life you've always wanted for you and your family. They test you and come back with results that say you have a 70% chance of developing some kind of cancer. Not only that, but they also genetically tested all your children and wife bc they were also on your insurance. Now, the insurance risk management consultant determines it's better for the company if they cut you, since the treatment for cancer can be unpredictable and they don't want their insurance rates going up. So they fire you. Now you're fricked.
