"Going last at Sessions hearing like ‘being made to go to the back of the bus’"

Louisiana's own hand selected Congressman from the 504 & 225 area codes
Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-La.) slammed the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, saying the decision to have three black members of Congress testify at the end of Sen. Jeff Sessions's (R-Ala.) confirmation hearing for attorney general is the equivalent of being sent to the "back of the bus."
"First I want to address my concerns about being made to testify at the end of the witness panels," he said. "To have a senator, a House member, and living civil rights legend testify at the end of all of this is the equivalent of being made to go to the back of the bus."
Richmond called the scheduling a "petty strategy" of Senate Republicans.
Corey Booker however told reporters "he didn't agree with Richmond's remark."

He's an embarrassment to Louisiana.

Hahaha they cannot give it up, keep it up

Ironically, in middle school the back of the bus was premium real estate.

Until today, I always thought he was a nice guy, despite his politics. I met him once on a field trip to the state capitol, and my grandpa coached him in a few sports years ago.
However, his remarks today at the hearing were very poorly worded and have led me to believe that he is most likely a racist.

Massa told him to jump, he said "how high?"

Well Southeastern Louisiana. He doesn't represent the rest of the state.

Did he really refer to himself as a living civil rights legend?

He was probably referring to John Lewis who is living off of what he did 30 yrs ago. Dude needs to retire and take McCain & crew with him.
The whole "back of the bus" shtick needs to get a proper burial.

I guess he ignored the gentleman that spoke after him. Because he was not in fact last.

yeah yesterday i didn't get the comment but somebody made a good effort and said that it was their little group testifying last at the hearing. however, that doesn't make any sense b/c were they going to give testimony before Sessions? i'm not exactly sure what happened in the morning yesterday, but it wasn't reported on and wasn't on CSPAN

He shouldn't even been allowed to speak
