Global Warming is great
Posted by joshnorris14 on 1/18/17 at 11:03 am234
It's been 10 days straight of highs of low 80s and lows of high 50s. Going to really help agriculture in the future if this keeps up!

During the Medieval Warm Period, swamps dried up, disease fell, populations soared in formerly unsettled regions like Germany and Eastern Europe. So much land became arible that Greenland was settled, wine grapes were grown in England, and the population boom triggered in Scandinavia spawned the Viking conquests.
However, the warm period likely triggered droughts in Central America which collapsed the Classical Mayan Civilization.

Life in pretty good for humans in temperate temperatures like this.

We will need to produce A LOT of food to feed all the Africans that are going to start immigrating all over the civilized world.
For real, there's going to be billions of Africans everywhere.

Doubtful. This year was both to wet and to dry. It was way to cold and to hot. We had to much darkness and not enough light. Gas prices are to high and farmers can't make a profit. The rain we got was the wrong kind of rain. The sunshine had to much vitime C.
Any one of these excuses will be used when we pay $5/pound.

During the Medieval Warm Period,
Back in the 16th century Europeans didn't know what plants to bring on the ships to the Americas. So they used logic. The temp at the 25th N parallel in Europe will be the same temp as the 25th N parallel in America. So they brought the appropriate crops.
But they were wrong. The temps were different.

I think we going to need more rain for the wild crop to flourish.

Famines are nearly non-existent now because of the use of fossil fuels. Shelter, clean water, food, clothing, communication, travel....have all been made more easily accessible to the poor because of fossil fuels.
Environmentalists hate poor poeple.

I'm not complaining about swimming laps in the outdoor pool in January.

You're right. I forgot to add in the "poor crawfish farmer" factor.

It's only Global Warming wear it's warm. Meanwhile...everything north of Arkansas has been frozen solid for the past month.

I remember the good ole days of high school (early 90's), driving 15 minutes to Manchac and getting them for 69 cents a pound.

I agree.
Think of all the land that could grow crops in the Frozen Tundra's of Canada and Siberia.
If the world would warm another 10 degrees we could realistically support 10 times the human population we have now by the increase of land areas that are not suitable for agriculture currently.
