McCarthyism definitely isn't the right word either.

Nixonism perhaps?

He's not a hero.

He is a mildly sympathetic traitor.

One does hope that there is part of the intelligence apparatus still loyal to the actual government who will go after the leakers.

Democrats are not bothered by felonies when they help the cause so they won't be any help. Every leak of classified data is a felony.

Yep.

And let's not pretend that after he released the shite, a bunch of us didn't PREDICT exactly what it meant going forward while morons played the "if you aren't doing anything wrong" card

I'm not defending the legality of it. It's huge governmental overreach.

It's the way Snowden went about it that I have a problem with.

Well. To put a fine point on it.

Now that we see what the people in charge were willing to do, I think the theory that Snowden legitimately had other options is pretty flimsy

No, clearly nothing has happened. It's all fake news. Move along.

He could have let people know the NSA were doing unconstitutional surveillance without releasing hundreds of thousands of classified documents.

It's releasing the classified documents that really got him in trouble, and gave Russia enough reason to grant him asylum.

I'm happy to get you on record right now.

I'll go in record. Trump is a fricking idiot and he needs to get off of twitter because it's the most embarrassing thing I've ever seen a sitting president do.

Let's face it. Obama tapped the phone lines of a person who might become president.

In the prior election, he used the IRS to blunt opposition.

His Senate crony illegally obtained his political opponent's taxes.

And his supporters LOVE him for it

Snowden was a nobody. If that fricker tried it the right way, he'd have been disappeared in a heart beat.
