The clip in the link is a dramatization of Mattis confronting a Col. who he later relieved from duty on a bridge during the invasion. Apparently, it is a pretty good representation of how he talks.

Not sure if he relieved him, but Mattis is still a BMF.

The actual story is that he actually did relieve that Colonel.

He did relieve Col Dowdy. It was a big deal when it happened. But it didn't happen on that bridge. It happened a couple days later after he had passed through Nasiriyah

It seems like everybody likes Mattis. The only reservations by some is that he isn't far enough removed from his military service for a civilian position like this.

I was there for that battle. The show got it pretty good.
