Up 5 points in a week in an unfavorable poll. Melt.

Doubt it. He has gained support, not lost support.

Polls are fricking useless regardless of who is paying for the results

He's doing great. Good news is that he's above where Bill was at 6 months. He has a shot at not being the most unpopular president since Ike after 6 months.

People always seem to forget that Ike as prez was not totally popular for much of his term. He is one of those presidents who became more respected once he left office, but while in office struggled with image.

HW was another example.

Ike was very popular. His average approval for his term was 65%.

Not sure where you get that he wasn't. When I said "since Ike" I meant that's when Gallup stared polling Presidential approval.

I think he's doing great to still be so high considering the constant barrage of negative reporting by the MSM whose mission appears to be to take him down at all costs.

I always found it was a lot easier to raise my grades 5 points when I was flunking than when I had a C average.

Always wondered why that was....

gotcha. LBJ was cursed with following JFK would was wildly popular when he was killed. His popularity is going to suffer because he's going to be constantly compared to JFK.

Would you want to be the next coach of the Patriots once Belichick retires?

LBJ was somewhat similar to Bush. Both essentially began their terms with like 90% approval ratings (September 2001 was essentially the beginning of bush) because of crises that required people to come together.

They began to decline gradually, and wars ultimately put a nail in them, but LBJ did see an uptick in popularity towards the end.
